format sd card / usb stick [windows, ubuntu, raspberry pi]

to avoid problems if you remove a sd-card:
rechtsclick auf datenträger > aushängen!!!! (wie bei windows sicher entfernen)

info about filesystems (simply best use always fat32):
fat32 up to 2TB
ext4
exfat #https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ExFAT for sd cards and usb stick by microsoft
do not use fat16 (max 2GB)

Debian / Ubuntu:
install laufwerke (gnome-disk-utility):
sudo apt install gnome-disk-utility

or install and use gparted:
sudo apt install gparted
unmount all partitions on the sdcard and delete them
new format:fat32 name:SD-PI anwenden

if something is badly broken:
find the device:
dmesg

maybe overwrite a random small image (for example tinycore
http://www.tinycorelinux.net/7.x/armv6/releases/RPi/ ):
sudo dd if=/$HOME/Schreibtisch/piCore-7.0.img of=/dev/sdb bs=1M status=progress #conv=noerror,sync
after that use gnome-disk-utility to format it the way you want.

or overwrite the partition table (replace sdb wthe the device you found with dmesg):
sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdb bs=1M count=2
remove sd card run:
sudo fdisk -l
and insert it again

and create a new partition table (replace sdb wthe the device you found with dmesg):
sudo cfdisk /dev/sdb
choose dos
choose schreiben
write yes
choose ende

try gnome-disk-utility if that does not work maybe overwrite an image first.
