install licecap / peek [debian 64bit]

licecap

install wine:
sudo apt-get install wine -y

install licecap:
wget http://www.cockos.com/licecap/licecap126-install.exe
wine licecap126-install.exe

remove the exe file:
rm licecap*.exe

maybe also try gifcam: #screen gif recorder

for ubuntu install it from a stable ppa:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:peek-developers/stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install peek

for debian:
#wget http://ppa.launchpad.net/peek-developers/stable/ubuntu/pool/main/p/peek/peek_0.9.1-0~ppa6~ubuntu17.04.1_amd64.deb
wget http://ppa.launchpad.net/peek-developers/stable/ubuntu/pool/main/p/peek/peek_1.0.3-0~ppa552~ubuntu17.04.1_amd64.deb
sudo dpkg -i peek*.deb

or if you want to compile it from latest source(works in ubuntu and debian):
sudo apt-get install valac
sudo apt-get install libgtk-3-dev
sudo apt-get install ffmpeg
cd ~
git clone https://github.com/phw/peek.git
cd ~/peek
cmake . && make
sudo make install

you need to relog to see the program in menu

got a black gif ?

system->einstellungen->fenster->enable software compositing fensterverwaltung aktivieren

also try byzanz:
sudo apt-get install byzanz
usage:
byzanz-record -d 10 ~/Schreibtisch/test.gif
